Jared Coffin’s paintings are composed of many different interacting layers. The surfaces build up over time allowing for juxtaposed marks and spontaneous improvisation. He uses direct observation and personal experience as tools to aid in the development of his images, which generates a greater connection to the subject. He is interested in perceptions of reality, how they change over time and how new meaning continues to reveal itself.
Jared currently lives and works in the South of France.
